@davenamin has put together an example with kobotoolbox that looks like it could be modified to build this dataset. The example/demo is here. I like the tool because it's mobile friendly, so we can walk around with our phones and tag crosswalks.
In addition to the geotag, I'm thinking there would be selection options for lined, tactile pavement, curb cut, unmarked, signal, etc. (we'd need to brainstorm). We could also use it to collect some other more subjective data, maybe traffic visibility, lighting, general feeling of safety.

We need a geospatial dataset of the locations of crosswalks in Newport, along with other information about them, like painted, signage, signals, etc.
