Disassociating file types, having severe problems with the virtual install files #1177

Describe the bug A short description of what the problem is Trying to install mods long-held (for Fallout 4), repeatedly have to delete the files from the virtual install to get the new installation to take... and some mods (Soda heaven and Sweet Roll 5000, for example) don't install at all.

Environment

Please remember to attach any trace logs you get in connection to this problem. Without these it will often be very hard to track down the bug.

To Reproduce How to reproduce the problem

Additional information Anything that could help track down this problem, other software used, screenshots, etc.

Many of these files were disrupted when, while trying a controlled uninstallation, had a power glitch at the worst possible time.

What do you mean by "controlled uninstallation" ?
