Bug Report - Other: "Scan for Games" Button Dissapeared #12959

Vortex Version: 1.6.8 Memory: 31.69 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.19042) Today I opened Vortex for the first time in a few months, and was told that I needed to set up Stardew Valley (I have never modded it or tried to). After I dismissed the prompt, I noticed none of my games were recognised, so I went to the "Games" tab and selected "Scan for games", followed by a "Quick Scan". After this, I was given some notifications about some new games, then the "Scan for games" button disappeared, and I still couldn't see any of my games. I'm trying to add Graveyard Keeper in GOG.

I can no longer scan for games (button is missing), view the "Games" tab in "Settings" or see any games at all. I have tried uninstalling, clearing my %APPDATA%\Vortex directory and deleting my custom downloads directory, but nothing makes a difference - Vortext is essentially useless and I've lost all my mod progress / profiles.

You erased your %appdata% folder, ensuring that all of Vortex's state is removed. That means Vortex is no longer aware of the games you were managing or the downloads/mods/profiles you may have had. You're basically complaining about not having a car after you set it on fire and drove it off a cliff.

The scanning functionality was removed intentionally - click the game you want to manage in the unmanaged section and re-manage your games, scanning is now done automatically.
