And yes, I have read the wiki. I have double, triple, and quadruple checked the location of the folder. There is no "restore default location" button. There is no "location" tab, as seen in the screen shot.
I am having this same issue. Windows 11, I can find the My Documents folder no problem, I've made sure my registry files are pointed to the documents folder, multiple uninstall and reinstalls. I'm seriously at wit's end.
@MisterKnowBody I never found a solution. I decided to use BG3 mod manager instead. It's easy enough, and it didn't give me any issues.
@Cyanide68 if you have win 11 and you tried to delete OneDrive, you might have a problem with paths to Documents.
Press Win
+ R,
then type regedit
.
Go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
and check if the paths are correct.
Basically all of them should be %USERPROFILE%\SomePath
.
Personal
and {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756}
should have the correct path %USERPROFILE%\Documents
. Just remove any mentions of OneDrive.
Describe the bug Error opening. Startup failed. Your My Documents folder is missing or misconfigured.
Expected behavior Vortex should open. My Documents folder is exactly where it should be in C:\Users{username} (see screenshot location: )

I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, uninstalling again, forcing to install in a different location (program files (x86) ), uninstalling again, and on and on about 10 times. Google, youtube, hunting through resolved issues here, etc, has been fruitless.
