Still not installing mods with non-standard file structures correctly

Download the optional file of Practical Female Armors: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2628

Vortex will create a Data folder within the Data folder. Instead of putting the files in Data just into Data. The mod does have a Data folder.

vortex is still messing up on mod installs with archives that have Data at the start or a mod name D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Data\materials\MikeMoore\AssaultFlamer so far its only the AssaultFlamer mod for Fallout 4 that is doing this for me this is also still happening to some mods for Skyrim SE too

also some mods that use this folder setup in a archive also don't install right (here's an example) ModName\textures\ or ModName\Data\textures\ or Data\textures\ vortex keeps copying the frist folder it see's in the archive

Mods whose archive contain a Data folder are not installed correctly. The mod's Data folder appears inside the game's Data folder. Examples include:

Does not install Immersive Armors SSE CBBE Bodyslide Conversion mod by bmthrooh correctly. Creates a data folder inside of data folder so BodySlide won't find the files.

Managing files from some achives

I've stumble into something here: Some mods/archive folders structure, downloaded from nexus, dosen't get managed correctly.

At first I was thinking about an oversight (both mod autors and yours, one of those tiny details that get forgot), like "Vortex dosen't know how to manage bad archives folder structure". But now I see that some (with the same "folder structure") get managed well and some other not, so, getting to the point:

Some mods get installed in my Data directory IN a SUB-directory Data (So .../Fallout4/data/data/Someting.esp)

Here a list of the files in my load order that gives this error: Sim Settlements AddOn Pack - SimTowers https://rd.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24601

Sim Settlements AddOn Pack - JtBryant's Utilities https://rd.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23125

Sim Settlements AddOn Pack - JtBryant's Foundations https://rd.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25010

Hmm What To Wear - CBBE Bodyslide https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10232

Wasteland Pionerka v1_0 CBBE BodySlide https://rd.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17108

Tactical Armor https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26484

The first three are from the same author JtBryant (JtBryant 86), so maybe is related to something.

Example of a mod with the same Folder structure that get installed without problem: Unlimited Survival Mode - F4SE https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26163

I tried to uninstall and reinstall it to see if was a random error, but no, It does it wrong all the time, let me know if you need more info about.

Hi, the mod "Sim Settlements AddOn Pack - JtBryant's Utilities" doesn't install in the correct folder. It goes in the "Data/Data" by default. See attached screenshot. Manually downloading the mod and redo the mod without the fomod elements fixes it. Don't know why the author puts it in a "data" folder.

I do know that NMM has no problem with it, installs just fine.

Guess it's a case of anticipate author mistakes or tell them to fix their files. :D

This seems to be fixed now and could be closed. I tested it a bit and no issues so far.
