5 years ago Hi coronor, thanks for your report; the error message you're experiencing when executing KOTOR 2 via Vortex is actually tied into the game's executable and would not start correctly even if you would manually execute it by double clicking it.
That being said, we did come up with a workaround which we're considering to add in one of our next releases - Fixed in https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Vortex/commit/1c199d88a0475ae03b5ef398921552ef78fb5b43
Vortex Version: 0.16.15 Memory: 15.94 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.17134) when attempting to run KOTOR2 through vortex it is not recognizing steam as open and KOTOR2 installed. I know it does read KOTOR2 as installed since vortex registered the game when I ran the search through my system for games but not when I try to run the game with the mods. the game will not even open but if opened through steam it does fine.
