Bug Report - Skyrim CTD after Vortex update

• Skyrim SE 1.5.97
• SKSE 2.0.17

After the updating today to Vortex 1.2.8, when launching SKSE from Vortex, Skyrim SE crashes right after showing the Skyrim Logo (before loading o creating a game).

My game worked fine prior to updating Vortex. And if I execute SKSE directly without Vortex, it works fine too.

I can continue to install and deploy mods and the rest of the tools (SSEEdit, Wrye Bash, etc) are working fine.

Maybe this issue is caused by something similar to #6146.

Hi @josec87, can you please attach your vortex.log files to this issues; you can find them inside your "%appdata%/vortex" folder - I'm hoping we may find the error code returned by SSE when it crashed.

Vortex Version: 1.2.8 Memory: 15.97 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.18362) After the last Update of the Vortex Mod Manager the SKSE loader can´t be loaded with Vortex the game don´t start if you start SKSE with Vortex If you Start SKSE without the Manager the Game starts just fine! Sry for my bad English!

Vortex Version: 1.2.8 Memory: 15.93 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.18362) Using the exact same mod list and load order, the most recent update causes Fallout 3 to crash. It loaded and played fine before I updated the Vortex mod manager, after updating it crashes immediately after launching the game.

Vortex Version: 1.2.8 Memory: 15.93 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.18362) After update cant use Skyrim Script Editor to load skyrim tried re-adding it back on list since its my default way to start game and still crashes immediatly, if i disable all mods it cant even see the dlc which is included in the main game files.

Vortex Version: 1.2.8 Memory: 31.92 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.18363) I updated Vortex to the latest version and tried starting fallout 4 using fallout 4 script extender. Fallout 4 crashes to desktop. The only software that changed between startup is vortex.

Vortex Version: 1.2.8 Memory: 7.98 GB System: win32 x64 (6.1.7601) Just had the new update install. Using it with Fallout 4 Tried to run current set up (via script extender) but crashes before reaching FO4 main screen. Disabled all mods and tried again (script extender) same result Removed all mods tried again (no script extender) same result Re-installed Vortex tried vanilla startup no mods installed but still crash before main FO4 menu reached

So in short Vortex won't run Fallout 4 in either a modded or unmodded state, vanilla or script extender start same result, crash before FO4 main menu reached.

Vortex Version: 1.2.8 Memory: 15.93 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.18363) So I figured it out. Try to load SSE (SKSE plugin) from Vortex, results in CTD. Load SKSE from file explorer, works fine. Even with the the plugin discrepancies warning.

EDIT: Forgot to note... Didn't make any changes any mods prior to the Vortex update.
