Mods do not appear in-game/Forgot to deploy #9162

Closed IDCs closed 3 years ago

IDCs commented 3 years ago

This issue has been created to collate user bug reports where the user is unable to confirm the presence of the mods within the game and we have confirmed/suspect that the user never deployed his mod files.

If you have been directed to this post, please be aware that Vortex downloads and installs mods in an intermediary location and not directly into the game's mods path. In order for the mods to be present in-game they need to be deployed first.

To do this, go to your mods page and click the "Deploy Mods" button in the action bar.

The mods will now be linked into the game's mods folder and their functionality should become present in-game. If it's not, then the fault probably lies with the mod itself - inform the mod author or ask for help on our forums and/or Discord channel.

Vortex Version: 1.4.15 Memory: 7.95 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.19043) Summary: Mods download properly via the MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD buttons on Nexus. Mods seem to install and enable correctly, displaying any dialog boxes during install. However, no plugins are listed after installation. Expected Results: Plugins appear in the plugins tab after mods are installed (and contain .esps) Actual Results: No mods appear in the plugins tab except for the main game and DLCs Steps to reproduce: Install a mod containing an .esp, then look in the plugins tab.

Vortex Version: 1.4.15 Memory: 15.92 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.19043) All of my mods install properly, but when I open the game, it appears to be just the vanilla version of Morrowind. I'm making sure to open Morrowind from Vortex itself. I have several mods installed and enabled.

Vortex Version: 1.4.17 Memory: 127.97 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.19043) Getting mods to actually install with this Vortex thing is awful. I'm trying to get mods installed for X4, but despite your program saying it's installing and enabled, it never does get added to the game's mod folder and isn't available in the game.

Not much point to a mod manager that cannot manage mods.

Vortex Version: 1.5.6 Memory: 31.70 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.19043) a few weeks ago one of my mods for x4 stopped working. in looking around my files I noticed in the game folder for that mod there were no files. I tried several times reinstall and enable disable of the mod but still that folder remained empty. The only way I was able to get the mod working again was to manually copy the files from the Vortex Mod folder to the extensions folder for x4. This happened to two different mods for X4 that I noticed this problem with. The two mods were "https://www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/454 " and "https://www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/51" and both were working fine before this problem showed up.

Vortex Version: 1.6.7 Memory: 31.92 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.19044) i did everything about 20 times, re install, un manage and re manage, check all routes of mods and downloads. AND NOTHING! Its really frustrating cause my Friends installed the same way i did and they have no issues, this is why i left nexxus a while back on skyrim and stuck with steam, cause i didnt have any issues like this, its just click and done.
