Bug Report - Other: Issue switching from XBox GamePass Install of Oblivion to Steam install of Oblivion #9349

Vortex Version: 1.4.12 Memory: 31.90 GB System: win32 x64 (10.0.19043) I was originally trying to setup Vortex with a GamePass install of Oblivion, but I was running into issues with getting obse working. Given this I decided to try to swtich using a Steam install instead (before doing this I disabled all of the mods in Vortex, then I had Vortex move my mods directory to the drive where the steam install was - from X: to M:) when I went to try to enable the obse mod again I am now getting consistent errors saying that Plugins not sorted due to DLCBattlehornCastle.esp not being a valid plugin. Given that this is one that comes with the Steam version, I suspect that something has gotten broken somewhere in the switch from the GamePass install to the steam install. I have tried going on the plugins page and manually enabling all of the DLC plugins but it still comes back with that error.

Any suggestions on what to try to get Vortex functional again?

Script Extenders are indeed non-functional with GamePass versions of Beth games so it's good you opted to use the Steam version instead.

What you can do is:

  1. purge your mods inside Vortex

  2. go to the games page, find Oblivion and select "Stop Managing" image

  3. Close Vortex.

  4. Verify your game files through Steam https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

  5. Wait for Steam to finish

  6. Start Vortex, go to the games page and start managing Oblivion again.

  7. Go to your mods page, hit Deploy mods.

  8. Profit
