Looked at post #37, I actually just made a post on that issue I believe. I'm using a Pimax 5K XR. Seemed like a brightness discrepancy off the bat for myself. Last time I played with MotherVR was with the Oculus Rift on 0.6, but didnt have these problems, it ran visually very well, text also for the most part.
To sum it up, with my Pimax I have that lens lighting discrepancy like the OP had in the link you posted and unreadable texts was another problem.
Might I suggest using the TAA injection mod instead of super sampling or more accurately use super sampling right under the value that breaks the game but also use the TAA injection mod which should be used anyways because it's the only way to remove literally EVERY jaggy in the game.
The TAA mod doesn't work with MotherVR. MotherVR completely bypasses it.
It works for me... Has for the last 3 updates. I don't use the latest version of the the injector because it causes a crash every 15min but one revision down and it works fantastic.

Yeah, there's a TAA injection mod made just for alien isolation and its the only way to get rid of the shimmer and jaggies. Only problem is for some people it tends to cause the game to crash but that mod combined with this mod and the planar reflections mod make for one exceptional looking game. Especially in VR.

I don't have them and it's been quite a while since I had the game installed. I always just googled when I needed them.

That should get that one and I believe adding planar reflections and some other visual enhancements are on PC gaming wiki and/or pinned on the steam forum for the game.
The TAA mod is on GitHub so you will know you have the right result for that search.

I can get it to work playing AI as a pancake game but as soon as I try to hook it up with motherVR, it won't work.

Are the planar reflections the ones that are bugged for some people? (For me, the glossy reflections don't work properly in VR - they seem to move separately from the world when looking around.) Would this fix them, or would they just be off at a higher resolution?

No they are probably different but I can't say for sure. Planar reflections are basically perfect reflections on certain floor types. They are basically a texture created in real-time based on what they are reflecting and only work because the engine natively supports them.
Another game that uses them is Hitman 2 on the first map (ocean at night). It uses planar reflections in the windows.
You end up with high quality reflections that show things out of screen space like ray tracing does.
As far as rendering goes they can be expensive although not anything close to ray tracing expensive. They are very rarely used in this game but they definitely enhance the look where they are used.
I've never heard of them causing issues in this game whether playing flat or in VR.

Yeah that's an issue. I had issues with some assets popping in and out. For example, the first vent you crawl through at the beginning of the game as lights hanging. You can see lights further down the tunnel pop in and out very noticeably. It doesn't happen outside of VR. You get used to it but it would nice for these issues to be resolved. I hope Nibre either comes back to update his mod or makes it open source.

Vive Pro Headset. GPU: Nvidia 2080Ti OS: Windows 10 x64 Pro - up to date (latest regular build, not Insider). SteamVR Beta (1.4.15) Tested on non-Beta as well (no difference). MotherVR version Beta: 0.80, 0.60, 0.40 (Tested all of them - same issue).
SteamVR SuperSampling set to 1.0x MotherVR SuperSampling set to 3.0x (Pixel Aspect). Update: It seems that anything higher that 1.0x will show this problem. The more SS you add, the more the problem becomes visible. I am also attaching the savegames here in case they help: Savegames.zip _("Unzip to Steam_Install_Folder\userdata\yourID\214490\remote")
Problem: On some surfaces some textures are missing (looks like they are supposed to be clipped around the lens in the right eye) - it looks like the diffuse colour is incorrect. This doesn't happen if SS is set to 1.0x (but the resolution is so low for VR that I can't even read the text in the inventory). Things I tried:

However, I am not sure if the OP was referring to another problem or this problem. I followed the suggestions in that thread, but nothing made it work.
"Putting a finger in the air", it looks like a RTV/Resource is not supersampled correctly and the calculations are still executed on the wrong resolution ?!
