The crash appears to be happening when the game is initializing the renderer
based on the command line arguments. What command line arguments are you using
when you start Halo? (eg, -console, -devmode, etc)

Just -console.

Yeah, Nothing but" -console" and even when i take it out i get the error.

Hey kornman, sorry to be such a pest but i still don't know what's wrong or how
to fix it.

FireScythe, I need you to look into this. The crash is happening within the
game's rasterizer_initialize. The game is calling into the OS d3d9, which then
calls the real d3d9, and somewhere after things are causing this crash.

So, fireSythe, anything?

I'm still as clueless. Do you have AIM or Live Messenger? I may need to do some
iterative debugging with you, and the issues system isn't suitable for that.

No i don't, unless by live messager you mean google talk.

Hey, quick Q&A. Where is the directx d3d9.dll located?
Original comment by footsmas...@gmail.com
on 6 Apr 2012 at 4:34
Um, i just checked C:Windows\System32\DirectX and there's nothing in there. Not
a d3d9.dll or anything at all. So how would the OS d3d9 be calling something
that's not there?
Could this be my problem or am i just being stupid?

The d3d9 DLL for OS is placed in your Halo CE root directory. The stock d3d9 is
in the system32 folder I believe, but that's irrelevant since we know that your
setup works when OS is not installed.
I may have access to google talk (if Trillian supports it).

Any solution for this ?

You haven't provided us with a 32bit dump for us to determine whether you are
having the same issue. Make a new issue report and link to a 32bit dump of your
crash and i'll take a look.

So i get the idea that i'll never get OS working...Sadness :(.

I sent a Google talk invite to your email, but you haven't appeared on my
contacts list. I can't debug this issue further without getting you to run
debug builds to narrow down the problem area, and for that we need instant
messaging otherwise it's going to take too long.

Oh, i didn't realize that you sent it. I checked my inbox and didn't see it, do
you mind sending it again? Sorry for this :/

You could add me to MSN (argumedo.195@hotmail.com) or Xfire (koste1313), I have
the exception error data gathering, I think it would be faster to solve if you
went to my PC via Teamviwer, Many thanks in advance, hopefully early response.

hello, I have the same or apparently the same bug of the "gathering resource
data", I can't create a dump file because the task manager doesn't give me the
option to, not even if I go to system 32. the only options I see when I right
click haloce.exe at the task manager are "end process", "end process tree",
"debug", "set priority" and "set affinity". I guess "debug" is the option I
have to click but I just can't... doesn't matter what I do. please help me. my
msn is leteo39@hotmail.com
