Thanks for this, It certainly come from the version of Urwid installed indeed, I'm with the 0.9.9.2 (currently in Arch Linux). I'll have a closer look anyway.
I'm also experiencing this issue... (installed tyrs 0.6.0 from PIP, and got urwid with it, but seemingly the wrong version)
I'll try to fix that this week-end, get the @non idea in the core, in order to get working with both, old and new urwid. Thanks for feedback

Hey, I eventually hacked my copy of Tyrs to get around this, but the Urwid I have installed (1.0.1) doesn't have this function, and I can't find any mention of it in the code from Hg either.
When I made this function a noop things worked fine.
