Ce serait bien que tyrs raccourcisse les urls à la volée lorsqu'on écrit un tweet…

Perhaps URL shortening is something one would want on a global hotkey. Just a tap on a key-combination, and the URL in the clipboard is shortened, replaced, and read for pasting... Just a thought.

Perhaps. But with global I meant system global. I.e. a separate program, which can be called with a system global hotkey, that transforms an URL in the clipboard.That way there is one system-wide way and program to do URL shortening, and each program doesn't need to implement it's own system.

Well thats ambition, i believe. Why dont we think first how to implement url shortening in tyrs an later on a system-wide url shortener ? My idea keeps being to make a more powerful tweet editor, so it can make the nick completition and url shortening...

Ok, you may be right in that it would be convenient to have in Tyrs. I was just thinking that an URL which is long enough to need shortening probably comes from the clipboard anyhow. And because of that, URL shortening could be done my manipulating the clipboard, for example with: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=48276

Default: ur1.ca Support as well: bit.ly More will come, documentation about it is on doc/reference.txt (not yet online) the idea is to press ctrl-U when editing a tweet, and replace the url by a shorter one.
