Filtering list of devices

I have a lot of devices on my system (including 15 "virtual" sound handlers for 
un-DRM'ing audiobooks), but i don't want to use any of these as regular output, 
and only switch between my usb headset and my speakers.

I'm looking forward to version 2.0, but couldn't wait, so i made a couple of 
additions to introduce an ignore list that will remove devices from the list.

How it works:

Shift Click anywhere on the device list to clear the Ignorelist
Alt-Click on any device to add it to the ignore list (Notice that it matches on 
name, so you will not see any devices with the same name).

It's by no means perfect, but just meant as a quick fix for myself, feel free 
to use it any way you like.

This is a good idea - currently as you know the list shows only active devices, 
but these might also be not used like in your case. Since most these changes 
and settings move to settings window in 2.0, I'll try to merge this feature 
also to the devices settings tab which will also have an option to set a 
different hue for each device tray icon.

Currently I use SoundSwitch [ http://soundswitch.codeplex.com/ ] which has this 
feature. I would really be glad to see this.

Also, when talking about the options meny, a right-click on the tray should 
give access to things like "options", "about", and "exit" ;-)

version 2.0 RC already has this feature, try it - it's in devices tab, a 
checkbox for each device. Also, why you'd need a menu when all these options 
are available as key presses? And no about box is needed, that's what google 
code page is for ;)

Sorry I don't see tabs. Only the list of audio devices when I right-click the 
icon.

Btw, left-clicking the icon for icons or additional actions, which I do for all 
programs in the tray, let the sound disappear until I have clicked enough times 
to get back to the right audio output... quite annoying to break with the usual 
way trayicons behave.

I have downloaded and installed AudioSwitch v2.0 RC2. Because there is no about 
dialog, I'm not sure (but guess) that this is the correct version.

Sorry for sounding a bit hash, but this kind of things are really a bit 
irritating which is a shame because this app has the potential to be the best 
free audio output switcher for win7 (I tried a few others).

I updated the front page to reflect the usage of the RC2, which are also 
written to the RC2 download description page. You must press F1 when the list 
is open to access the settings page. I admit that the right-click is a 
non-standard action, but considering the functions of this app the extra menu 
just for two options would make no sense and would take away the hot switch 
functionality which it'd replace.
The left-click functionality is the same as Windows 7/8 power menu and clock 
behavior, the right-click is for quick-switching with the mouse witch is a 
minimal one mouse click per switch - this is intended to be as easy and quick 
as possible.

The "discoverability" of pressing F1 is really bad. Anyway, I managed it to the 
settings dialog.

If you insist on non-default behaviour for the right-click, at least show some 
options like "exit", "settings" and stuff on the dialog that appears when 
left-clicking the trayicon. It's ugly but better than the alternative "F1" 
which is just not easy enough to discover.

After opening the settings dialog, playing a bit with it, and at the same time 
clicking the tray icon.. oops... big windows error appears. Restarting the 
application results in nothing. I have yet to reboot my machine. Maybe worth 
some debugging, but I don't think it's important, the functional user interface 
and user interaction problems just described are far more important IMHO.

I didn't know about the F1 key until I found this bug note.  I was trying to 
find out how other people had managed to set a mysterious "hotkey" that I 
couldn't get to work.

In 2.0 the F1 combination will be disabled and proper right-click menu will be 
added on the tray menu. I think sacrificing the right-click hot-switching 
functionality is then ok by everyone... we have anyway hotkeys so why have it 
all...
