when query refreshes via ajax all is ok, however when via page refresh filters remain selected in UI but data query looses filer application and returns all results for current category and this only occurs when a category filter is in place.
to test, apply a category layered navigation filter, note the result count, then change the toolbar to show a different Quantity per page, you will note the number of results (products returned) increases.
