Tricopter rudder/yaw servo trim, wrong servo trim number? #604

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. using a APM2.6 on a tricopter, I recently changed servo and its default
position was not directly centered, I wanted a way to adjust the center trim on
the APM 2.6.
At first I thought this was not possible, but after searching I found some
RC7_trim , min , max values. However they did not seem to have any affect. I
saw references on DIYdrones to rc4_trim... I didn't think to adjust this as my
servo is plugged into rc7.
I had to reverse RC7 for my servo to work correctly so I was sure that Rc7_trim
was what I needed....
But after some frustrations, I tried altering RC4_trim and that did work for
adjusting my yaw servo trim.
Presumably this is a mistake?
Surely if RC7 reverses my servo, RC7_trim should adjust the same servo?
Sorry if I am mistaken here.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected RC7_trim to adjust my yaw servo trim, instead it did nothing. But
rc4_trim did alter my yaw servo trim, even though the servo is plugged into
RC7, I am nervous about altering rc4_trim as my tail ESC is plugged into slot 4
and I don't want to affect the trim on that..

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
APM 2.6 , MissionPlanner 1 latest version, winVista & win7

Please provide any additional information below.
I read elsewhere not to worry about yaw trim as the APM will take care of it,
but my previous servo did tend to allow some rotation on initial take-off and
that was mostly straight up. I am sure the tricopter would rotate significantly
more as it is now without trim adjustments.

When searching for solutions to this problem I found other people complaining
of difficulties adjusting trim for servos, not just rudder/yaw servos, so maybe
the code needs checking on all of these.

Thanks
