• Coins are kept in an Object Pool.
• CoinPool is a singleton.
• New coins are instantiated when the Pool runs out of instances.
• When the enemy drops (a) coin(s), they acquire deactivated instance(s) from the Pool.
• Activation is left to the script to which the deactivated object is returned.
• Instead of destroying coins on pickup, they are deactivated.

Pros: Less allocating/freeing memory due to instantiation and destroy, makes the garbage collector a happy fella.
