I tried to formulate a potential nixpkgs gsoc idea, would be awesome to get some feedback :D

I think it's a great idea and seems small but challenging enough. I submitted another PR to give ideas some structure, https://github.com/NixOS/GSoC2024/pull/4 so if we end up approving that one, maybe we should restructure this PR to follow the format we decide on the other PR so that we can keep this idea as the example in the docs.
