Project description purple-libnotify+ provides events dispatching for purple-events through libnotify. It was inspired by Pidgin-libnotify and Guifications.

Maybe this helps, I basically made a PR for this :): https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/65426 . Sorry for dropping the ball on that PR, I'm not sure I can commit to addressing the feedback soon (sorry) but at a glance it seems uncontroversial and straightforward (Thanks guys!). Hopefully soon I'll have time and be able to get things setup again but for now maybe that helps a motivated party save some effort. No obligation to save it if it seems easier to start over or whatever :+1:.
