Printer driver for Canon MG5650 missing #14214

Basic info

To make sure that we are on the same page:

added the printer Canon MG6600 series. The cups status page (http://localhost:631/printers) shows the following error:

Idle - "File "/nix/store/z2szc1awwxdv71hpxb1n5awsf25k3zjm-cups-progs/lib/cups/filter/cmdtocanonij2" not available: No such file or directory"

Indeed, cmdtocanonij2 doesn't exist in this directory.

Steps to reproduce

I'm not completely sure anymore how I added the printer since it's already a while ago, I'm not sure if I downloaded a driver from the canon page. I'll try to add reproducable steps later.

I encountered a similar issue today while attempting to install a Canon PPD downloaded from their website.

Linux alobar 4.9.20 #1-NixOS SMP Fri Mar 31 08:32:02 UTC 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I guess this is no longer an issue by now. If no one responds in a week then I'll go ahead and close this issue. Ofcourse always feel free to reopen or create a new one at any time!

(I'm going through old issues marked as stale to see what can be triaged.)
