I'm also interested in this. I wonder if modifying the derivation for XDPW would be enough?

@nani8ot I've seen that your nixpkgs fork already has xdg-desktop-portal-termfilechooser packaged. Do you mind opening a pr about that? I could also open the pr and go through the merging process, if that's fine with you.

@soispha I've tried to package it based on other portals and it's building but I never got the file chooser dialog to actually appear. I don't know what I'm missing and I've given up for the time being. If you get the portal to work I'm absolutely fine with you making the pr and going through the merging process.

I started working on that today. And have a working solution. @nani8ot should I add you to the maintainer list, considering that you packaged the most part?
