(Also it miscalculates bandwidth numbers, compared to speedtest-cli.)
That was reported upstream but nothing happened: https://github.com/nlamirault/speedtest_exporter/issues/55
Huh, it's quite disappointing that it seems abandonded. I haven't found another exporter that seems to contain as many metrics. I'd be curious if you settled on something else @bjornfor
@colemickens: I'm using https://github.com/caarlos0/speedtest-exporter now. It depends on proprietary speedtest program, see https://github.com/caarlos0/speedtest-exporter/issues/13. Unfortunately, the open source alternative, https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli, doesn't doesn't seem like a good alternative either (AFAIR, it's not well maintained and has bugs?).
Can this be closed, as https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/246320 was merged now?
If this is closed then a new issue should be made that links to this one and contains half of the OP text. (EDIT: typo.)
Our current
pkgs.speedtest_exporter
points to an archived / read-only git repo: https://github.com/nlamirault/speedtest_exporter. (Also it miscalculates bandwidth numbers, compared tospeedtest-cli
.)There's a ton of forks and re-implementations of prometheus speedtest exporter functionality, but in my quick search https://github.com/caarlos0/speedtest-exporter looked like good option.
