Some information for whoever wants to maintain this:

• They provide some release information on https://github.com/stayfree-app/desktop-releases/releases/download/v${version}/latest-{linux,mac}.yml. It includes paths for the release files and the relevant SHA512 hashes, which could be used in an update script.
• For Linux, they provide an AppImage and a .deb package for x86_64 only. For Darwin, they provide Aarch64 and x86_64 .dmgs and .zip files with the unpacked .dmg.
• List of Linux dependencies from the Debian control file:

  Depends: libgtk-3-0, libnotify4, libnss3, libxss1, libxtst6, xdg-utils, libatspi2.0-0, libuuid1, libsecret-1-0
  Recommends: libappindicator3-1

  • I imagine we'll also need to bundle electron with it too.
• They have a Debian postInstall script that uses hardcoded paths to /usr and /opt, and will need to be rewritten. Might be easier to just use the AppImage.

If we started doing source builds for proprietary projects, we'd really need to implement lib.licenses.illegal.
