wontfix this issue :-D
@vcunat no problem. That's cool with me :-D
My feelings exactly :-)
Also take a look at nixops. It will allow you to manage your servers from your workstation.
You just put the configuration you would have on the server into nixops and
tell it where to log in. Then you nixops deploy
and nixops builds
everything (optionally on the server) and when it succeeded pushes the
result and switches.
If your server dies, you simply deploy again on a new one (and restore your data from backup).

Hi guys,
I've just switched from ArchLinux to NixOS on my laptop and am really impressed. It's by far the best Linux distro, I have run so far! You guys are doing awesome stuff! I've been running ArchLinux both as my desktop and server distro for a long time now. I have no complaints and I really loved it but I think NixOS, thanks to the Nix Package Manager, is a cut above the rest. I fell in love with NixOS before I even ran nixos-install.
For my server distro, I have recently been testing CoreOS https://coreos.com/ and really liked it until I discovered NixOS. I think I will be switching all my server nodes from ArchLinux to NixOS very soon as well. I think NixOS can give me a JEOS with rollback support without sacrificing my freedom and flexibility.
I just wanted to take this moment to show my appreciation for the awesome work you are doing...

@wmertens I didn't know about nixops, thanks! I will check it out. I was thinking ansible would be a perfect match for NixOS.
Glad to have you on board!
@iElectric thanks a lot.
