I'm trying to install this extension in Firefox 49.0.2 on macOS 10.12.1 and I'm receiving the errorThis add-on could not be installed because it does not matched the add-on Firefox expected.

Thanks for creating the topic.

This is odd. I'll look into right now. :)

Wow that's weird. I just verified I get the same thing.

For now please right click the "Add to Firefox" button and save it to disk. Then go to about:debugging and then you can load the addon.

The problem is, the above method will load it as a temporary addon so you have to repeat that every browser startup.

I'll try to figure out what's going on. I want to recreate this addon as a hybrid WebExtension. But that will support only Firefox 51+. Should I hold off on this update for now?

Loading it in debugging worked and then the dock icon change functioned perfectly.

Unfortunately I'm on the Stable channel releases, only rarely try the Beta channel. I found a temporary work around with the custom-badge add-on (but would prefer yours) so I'm happy to wait until you've had a chance to figure out whats going on.

@bmorgenthaler - may you please try now? The AMO server guys fixed it.
