Ah ok thanks I remember now, yes that is very buggy I have to test it. Will check out tonight.
Status update on my part - Ive been busy with some other works will give this a test today and report back
Profilist 2.0 Firefox 42.0 Windows 10
I have multiple profiles, created by an old version of profilist before it came incompatible. Now with version 2 of profilist, the list of profiles in the "burger" menu of Firefox isn't showing at all.
After reinstalling Windows 10 Pro 64bit and Firefox, I didn't use an old Firefox profil, but a synced version. After installing v2.0 it worked like a charm. No trace of the previously mentioned problem.
Wow so weird thanks for that update! I have to revisit this and I promise I will soon! :)
Hi. After reading these posts, I decided to remove all of my profiles and start from scratch. So now I have multiple icons on the tool bar like I used to, but it will not allow me to create desktop icons with pictures attached and the toolbar icons do not show the pictures either.
Oh darn @pgold95 - I haven't got a chance to work on this yet - I recently started a new job. i badly want to get around to this soon. I don't have estimate in mind yet though. I have to deliever an udpate to my MouseControl addon, which I promised a couple years ago lol. Made good progress on that though.
@pgold95 please try to create the icon with this - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/icon-container-generator/ - does it work?
I could not even get this addon to install in my firefox (version 42.0)
So not only will the images no appear on the desktop or toolbar icons, when you pin a profile to the toolbar and then close firefox and click it again, it bring up another icon down on the toolbar, rather than just "activating" the pinned icon.
I really like your product and it made Firefox work for me, but I am seriously considering going back to Chrome because I need to have multiple profiles on my desktop and I need to be able to differentiate between then quickly. I will give a few more days, and perhaps you have some suggestions. I was liking Firefox in general more than Chrome, but ultimately, it is my workflow that will dictate which way I go.
I really appreciate your comments about liking my product. I really can't revisit this in the next few days I apologize. :(
You will be the first one I update as I fix this. I will keep this topic updated. :)
Your feedback on that functionality is priceless! Thank you very much for it!
Fixed, and in a huge way - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/profilist/versions/beta
It's HTML version for now. So with this version you have to navigate to about:profilist?html and then pin that tab. As Firefox is moving towards HTML and deprecating XUL. I will try to add in a XUL version though in 3.1
In beta for now. So more work is to be done. That work is listed here: https://github.com/Noitidart/Profilist/wiki/3.*-Task-List
The biggest lacking feature on beta, on Windows, is the lack of profile separation on the taskbar.
Thanks all for your patience
Hey @SimJoSt and @pgold95 I just upload 3.0b4 to the beta channel on AMO - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/profilist/versions/beta
It has the window seperation on the taskbar, and pinability from taskbar.
It is not yet modifying the icon on the taskbar if it is the default profile (or changed to be default)
I created a new test profile with the current version of Profilist I am using (2.0) and installed it there.
Clicking on prefrences in the addon list brought me to the page about:profilist
, but Firefox just said that it is an invalid address...
Oh interesting. Try going to chrome://profilist/content/resources/pages/cp.xhtml
and chrome://profilist/content/resources/pages/html.xhtml
Both show their respective content and react visually to hovering and clicking, but offer no functionality whatsoever. I cannot shutdown the profile or go into the adjustment screen and it is stuck on loading the profiles.
Please try reloading the page after landing on the page. That's interesting.

Finally I found time and did what you asked. F5 or STRG-R didn't change anything. If you are interested, I can send you the specific Firefox profile.
Thanks @SimJoSt for that.
I think the issue is different. Because you had Profilist v2.0 installed we need to do some file resetting.
Please go to the the "run dialog" or hit Win Key + R
Then type in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox
Then delete the profilist_data folder.
Then open firefox from the regular profile manager. By going to "run dialog" again, and then type in firefox -P
then exit. That will reset your profiles.ini - then launch up firefox the way you normally do please.
Then try please.
I have disabled and re-enabled the addon, but it does not seem to fully work anymore. I seem to have different profiles, but when I open them they are all grouped together with the same icon on the tool bar at the bottom of the screen.
