Clarification of "active windows" #1

You may want to clarify in the description if "active windows" means any active window within the operating system, or only active Firefox windows.

Thanks @Gitoffthelawn! Do you mean in the addon description in the install.rdf or on the listing?

How about this:

System wide hotkey enabling toggling of any window to be "always on top".

Does that make it clearer that its not just Firefox?

Gitoffthelawn commented 8 years ago

You're welcome. Thanks for your hard work!

I was referring to the AMO listing, although it should probably be made clear everywhere.

Just so I understand, this is a Firefox extension that can enable any window in the operating system to be "always on top". Do I understand correctly?

Since it's a Firefox extension, will the "always on top" windows revert to standard functionality once Firefox is closed?

If so, you want to be even more clear:

System-wide hotkey enabling toggling of any window to be "always on top". Windows that can be set as "always on top" are not limited to Firefox windows. Once Firefox is closed, Windows will revert to their standard layering.

My pleasure, I really appreciate your input.

Yes it's a firefox addon that allows any window on the operating system. If something is left over on top, and firefox is closed it has no affect. You can launch firefox backup, then go to that always on top window and hit the hotkey again and it will moved to normal status. :)

I'll update everywhere with this message in v1.1 :)

You're welcome. If you ever need help, just ask. If I have time, I'll help. If I don't have time, I'll politely decline (or I won't respond, if I have not logged in).

I tested the extension some more. Here's what I recommend based on the current functionality:

System-wide hotkey enabling toggling of any window to be "always on top". Windows that can be set as "always on top" are not limited to Firefox windows. Once Firefox is closed, windows will maintain their "always on top" status. Launching Firefox again will allow the hotkey to modify any window's "always on top" setting again.

That is excellent thank you very much! I'll update the listing description portion with that right now.

I really appreciate your offer! :)

By the way how did you discover this addon? Did you see my reddit post? I'm a long time addon dev but never got more then 2k users so I'm trying to get the word out on my addons :)

I discovered this add-on because you are on my private list of the most talented add-on developers in the world.

When I go on AMO, I notice when the best developers release something. If it looks interesting, I often test it and provide feedback.

By the way, if you are interested in a little project, there was an amazing extension called Quick Search Bar by Peter Fajdiga. It is no longer on AMO, but I'm guessing it is in online archives. (It is not https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/quicksearchbar/ ) Your talents would be most appreciated if you could bring that extension back to life. It was removed from AMO when Mozilla made the recent changes to the search functionality in Firefox, circa Firefox 35.
