In response to #289:
@JorgSchwinger and @TomasTorsvik , I'll give it a go today with the protected statements for model parameters in mo_param_bgc.F90 (and will clean up a bit the use statements). I don't see major conflicts with #281, so I think, it can be worked on in parallel (and, if needed, I'll take care of conflicts - #281 can go in first).
