Error showing when using vortex is that lslib cant read the paks or isnt installed. The newest version that it installs says its not up to date.
I'm having the same issue as well
Elvaleryn85 commented 2 weeks ago • Hey guys! I posted with this exact problem after the 1.19.4 update, got the same error, everything was FUBAR. Solution was to download the latest .NET 8 update. Find it here: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download
Enjoy returning to the gaming, lads! :D
Edit: Thank you Norbyte! Your quick reply saved my day off!
this fixed the issue for me so its highly recommended
Same issue as well
Still errors, it keeps on reloading and messing with my mods when I want to update a mod. Fix it now.
Man, it's nice getting hundreds of errors every time I load Vortex even when I don't have them installed and enabled. Please fix this... something is very very wrong. I did try the other one, BG3mod manager or whatever? Didn't seem to work there either

Sadly this did not work for me btw
No idea if this will be of any use. I've been installing Baldur's Gate 3 mods using Vortex and kept getting a "Reading PAK files" notification and it would fail. When checking the load order, it gave me a message about E:/Vortex not being a valid command or something. I thought it was strange because it's part of the file path for the Vortex Staging folder. So I removed all spaces in the folder names, so it's "E:/VortexStaging/Baldur'sGate3" and mods are now successfully installing via Vortex for me. No idea what happened, but I thought I'd share.
Edit: I installed .NET SDK 8 and had no luck before I removed the spaces in the folder names.
On my end I had that error too- something about locked/unlocked files. I thought it was out of my control until I saw one that stood out- Servant Twins, the name of the pak file for "Servants of the Great Old One", a mod that no longer exists on either my computer or Nexus. Got so excited thinking I'd possibly discovered some random backup I didn't know I had... but no, it was a broken symlink file. And there were a ton of 'em too.
Now I have a completely different issue in that I'm installing the mods, there's no errors, and it supposedly is deploying with out issue, but when I get into the game to start a new file, none of the homebrew classes and such are showing up.
However, suffice it to say, this all means it's clearly not an issue with 1.19.5, so I'll check what Nimarus84 recommended and then wipe my hands of it- it's my fault somewhere, so I just have to keep working at it.
the 1.19.5 breaks my mods when I try to update mods.
FIX YOUR LOAD ORDER MOD NOW IMCOMPENTENT FOOLS.
Managed to get it working! Himan, instead of yelling in all-caps, can you maybe post the exact error codes? Maybe you have the same problem I did. There were a whole lotta ghost files mucking up the game in C:\Users{User name}\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
If I tried to update a mod the mod order tool would install it self and lots of errors comes saying the mods that I had weren’t being read and it breaks most of my mods and I have to do a wipe. Sorry using all caps.

Ah yeah, that's very similar to what Vortex was telling me. It was always complaining about pak files being unable to be read due to being locked/unlocked, etc. I think one of the various BG3 related directories probably has ghost files mucking up your system. I fixed it by doing a backup of the mods themselves (the .rar files, I mean) into a specific folder and then completely purge the whole computer of all BG3 files in general.
Then it was just about load order management once I got the game and the mods re-installed. I hope this helps! I know very well how frustrated I felt the past few weeks working on this, so honestly all-caps is justified- I just couldn't help you XD
Ls/lib is still broken not reading any mods sending hundreds of errors I'm tired of seen an update for a mod then when I go and do an update the Ls/lib keeps on reinstalling and sending hundreds of errors fix it please.
fix your goddamn mod tool I want to fucking mod bg3.
It's doesn't work it keeps on failing and it's making me mad fix the mod tool now.
