This will require many components and is scheduled for the next major feature release.

Is this still a goal? Would love to have more hotbars! If you ever played City of Heroes it had a great hot bar system. Love me some hotbars. :)

Thanks for the kind words! And yes, it absolutely still is a goal, but the big new features like this one will have to wait until 0.8.5 is stable for a while.
