Won't connect the process #28

Open ibimcoll opened 1 year ago

I already tried to run as administrator, disable anti virus and still not working and it still says "Process: Not Hooked" and "Loaded: No". Is it because I am using Seamless Coop?

what antivirus do you have?

If it's BitDefender you have to make an exception to the exe itself, not the folder.

I think there might be one other AV that does this, too.

I just have the windows defender, deactivated the firewall and the anti virus sadly still dosent work for me.

are you trying to open it with EAC running?

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

I try to use it with seamless coop, so EAC is disabled but maybe the debugger doesnt detect seamless?

No, it normally works fine with Seamless. The issue is most likely something one your computer preventing debug tool from attaching itself to the Elden Ring process.

Are you sure you don't have some kind of anti-virus that snuck its way onto your PC from something like an installer for a game or cheat engine?

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

I am pretty sure, but I am just gonna reinstall it and hope that it was something in my files.

Nordgaren commented 1 year ago

Well, it would be another program on your system. Not something in your Elden Ring files. :(

Do you have any other mods, by chance? Anything that changes the window title?

Does Debug Tool freeze when the game is open?

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

Seamless is the only mod I have and use. I havent uninstalled it yet, bcs forgot it xd.

No, the Debug Tool runs completely fine, it just wont hook the process sadly :(

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

I going to try it without seamless and just normal game + EAC disabler

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

didn't work :(

can you mouse over your game window and see what the window title is?

Also, you are certain you are running it as admin after everything you try? If it's not freezing, but also not connecting, you will likely need to run it as admin.

You are also an administrator account on your PC, right?

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

It says that: https://imgur.com/EBy9TkA

Yes tried everything, is there maybe a way, to tell the program where it has to look for the eldenring.exe? Is it possible to hook eldenring manually? Like with Cheat Engine or smth?

Yes I am an admin

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

Okay, it may sound stupid xD But I tried everything EXCEPT starting first the debug tool and then Elden Ring haha Cause thought I would have to start debug tool after I started Elden Ring hahah Sorry for waisting your time .-.

This shouldn't matter at all. Debug Tool is designed to go through the process list and find Elden Ring. I might be able to allow the user to manually select the game, but I have to re-write the memory library I use (which I plan on doing, anyways), as it's not currently setup to do that. The only thing I can think of, is, Debug Tool is having issues going through the process list and finding Elden Ring.

When you start up Elden Ring, start debug tool, then click into elden ring and move around a bit and wait, and maybe it will connect. One other person has told me that Debug Tool takes a long time to connect for them, and IDK why. Maybe running a lot of processes?

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

I let it run now for about 10 minutes, ran around and sadly nothing happend :/,

Closed everything except the drivers for my hardware and chrome.

Nordgaren commented 1 year ago

That is really weird. It works fine if you launch debug tool, first, but doesn't work if you launch the game and then debug tool?

What version of Windows are you on?

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

I am currently on Windows 10 and idk if you need that, but Version 22H2 of Windows

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

https://imgur.com/D7zpQYk is weird it even shows programms in the task manager and the PID wich is important.. I guess cause shows it if it hooks

Nordgaren commented 1 year ago

Unfortunately, can't really debug it right now, but if you remind me in a week, I might be able to make a special build of debug tool to log some extra stuff and see what is going on.

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

Sure, I will try to remind you. Maybe I find a solution in the meantime, if so I will definitely let you know!

Nordgaren commented 1 year ago

Cool. I will try to remember, myself, but a lot of IRL stuff happening right now, so I might forget! Thanks for the bug report!

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

No problem :) Take the time you need and dont stress yourself.

ibimcoll commented 1 year ago

Almost forgot about it my self xD but here you go :)
