"Fashion & Extras" is the Main Category |* currently we have 10 Main Categories Taxonomy.
"BAGS" is Sub-Category assigned at "Fashion & Extras" |* there can be unlimited Sub-Categories Taxonomy, assigned at every Main Categories Taxonomy. Currently, when we Add the product and choose the Main Category, it's simple because we have 10 Only. BUT when we move forward to assign the Sub-Category.. it's crazy because there are usually minimum 200+ Sub-Categories, belong that 10 Main Categories AND HERE IS THE TECHNICAL PROBLEM! Because when we assign the product at the Main Category, ONLY the Sub-Categories assigned with that one should be visible to assign onward; i.e. not other Sub-Categories assigned with "Clubs & Bars" Main Category.. This problem should be solved in all the levels. As you know, as time we're moving forward on next levels, the taxonomy terms are increased a lot! Like: Brand/Catalogs for 10 Main Categories will be ~ 10.000+ BUT at one Main Category will be ~ 1000+ AND at one Sub-Category will be ~ 50+ Catalogs/Brands So, it's not same to select from a list with 50+ Items OR to select from a list with 10.000+ Items..!
This is the main problem here.. If you still don't understand, please read twice all the details from the ticket and from this Comment. And if you have any doubts/queries, I encourage you to write down your Comment, please! . . . We're using CCK module to create the content type fields.
"Hierarchical_select" module - https://www.drupal.org/project/hierarchical_select can be an option but you should read carefully the ticket details, to understand how is possible to use it.. If we'll use this, we need to manage it with Drupal Hooks to achieve the described requirements.
You can think at 2 scenario:
-- 1st. using "hierarchical_select" module is making the correct way of taxonomy levels but we lose all the current settings belong current taxonomy levels (like Main Category images / names, Sliders, Catalog images, Catalog description ..) If you have a better solution to replace all of them, in a logical way, offering same flexibility.. then I have nothing to say. If you don't have a reasonable technical solution to replace them, then you should think at it before using "hierarchical_select" module.
--2nd. scenario is to keep current structure and making custom code for taxonomy levels according with current work.

Every Taxonomy level contain different different fields, compared each other.
[1st. Level] - "Main Category" Taxonomy: http://cityguest.norrwing.ro/en/fashion-extras http://cityguest.norrwing.ro/en/taxonomy/term/63/edit?destination=admin/structure/taxonomy/categories -- Belong Taxonomy terms from this level can be configured some Teaser images, Slider Set Images.. and so on, individual per every taxonomy term. -- Category name [Fashion & Extras] and Category Image [fashion-extras-hover.png] -- mouse hover change their colour in that Gold colour. -- if we click on any main category, that means that is Active category and is keeping the Gold colour in all the taxonomy levels belong it.
[2nd. Level] - "Sun Categories" Taxonomy: http://cityguest.norrwing.ro/en/sub-categories/men http://cityguest.norrwing.ro/en/taxonomy/term/144/edit?destination=admin/structure/taxonomy/sub_categories -- "Special sub-category" check-box, is not necessary!
[3rd. Level] - "Catalog Brands" Taxonomy: http://cityguest.norrwing.ro/en/catalog-brands/gucci-for-men http://cityguest.norrwing.ro/en/taxonomy/term/308/edit?destination=admin/structure/taxonomy/catalog -- Catalog Image, Catalog description, Timer, Special check-box.. -- all of them are coming into this level. -- NEW check-box or PRE-OWNED check-box, should be added here
[4th. Level] - "Catalog categories" Taxonomy: http://cityguest.norrwing.ro/en/catalog-categories/gucci-handbags http://cityguest.norrwing.ro/en/taxonomy/term/307/edit?destination=admin/structure/taxonomy/catalog_categories
Correct scenario: -- we select a Main Category, then only the associated Sub-categories belong that Main Category should be active for the selection (not all of them as it's now). -- in the same way we need to correct the process for children Levels [3rd. and 4th. Levels].
i.e. According with our Taxonomy Schema, I describe a little bit the Taxonomy terms, bellow:
