2 years ago Yes I did. And no messages in the log. I’ve deleted all devices from the Alexa app and configured everything from zero. Same result. If I ask Alexa to discover devices she doesn’t find nothing new. If I restart the homebridge server all devices became online for a while than I get “accessory X is not responding” even if it works in the home app with HomeKit

What status does you account show on the homebridge.ca site ? Can you share the status?
Discovery not finding any new devices is not an issue, as asking her to discovery devices resets the pointers between Alexa and homebridge

2 years ago Nothing in the log, Alexa is totally disconnected from homebridge, she just say "Device X is not responding".

I didn't know about the devices discovery "reset" but it didn't work :(

2 years ago Hell0. Since about a week ago, Alexa most of the times says: device not responding. I have Alexa as an accessory (contact sensor) and push notification turned on. It drived me crazy because I had about a hundred of push notifications in my iPhone of disconnected/ connected Alexa. The devices run perfectly from Siri or via the homebridge via web, but I think there is a lot of convection breaks between Alexa and Homebridge because it afects all the devices. Thanks for your help.

2 years ago @lucaesse looking at the server logs I can see that the issue has not happened again. As the tweak was a needed tuning to operate the service, do you have some time to try a couple of settings to see what setting works best in your setup. I expect others with a similar setup to have the same issue.

Looks like 10 minutes is too long for your setup. I think what I'm going to do is implement a config setting called keepalive for people like yourself who's setup doesn't work well with long connection keepalive values.

restarting likely resolved the issue

2 years ago Weil, I had to restart several times… happened like 5 times in a row. But now it works again :)

2 years ago I still having the same issue, some days are better, other impossible to use. I have change up and down the refresh numbers moving from 150 to 1500 without any improvements, I had also, using the beta, changing the keep alive number at the plugin.js using the same range between 150 and 1500 but no success. Anything else can I try @NorthernMan54 ?

If the trigger for the disconnect is the cloud connection tuning, ( this issue ), these would appear every 10 to 20 minutes. If they are not appearing with this frequency then the issue is something else like you ISP connection or ???

@NorthernMan54 , they are appearing every 10 or even more frequently. I don't think the issue is on my ISP, because if I just restart Homebridge (not the Raspberry) the problem dissapear immediately, repeating again in 10 minutes or so. I have changed the reconnectPeriod on the plugin.js to 5000 is instead on 65000 and I don't feel the issues as I was feeling and I haven't see that in the log after the change. I don't know if this would help or not.

2 years ago Don't know why, but I was not able to replace the current version by an older or a beta but as with reduction of the refresh interval alexa lost connection very soon I increased this to 3600 sec. now which increases the time till the connection is lost. Anyhow I still have to restart the bridge after loosing connection which is of course not satisfying...

That's all the Alexa plugin writes to the log file. The nuke-platform-plugin shows two devices, one for the bell and one for the lock, both having the same name. I fixed that now by renaming one device in the Alexa app. I'll report if that solved the problem in my case.
And I installed 0.5.49 beta and set the cloud server connection to 300. I'll report back on that as well.

2 years ago @NorthernMan54 , sorry to give bad news, the change didn't work after a while the plugin failure again.. attached is the log. I changed again on the plugin.js the reconnectPeriod to 5000 instead of 65000, yesterday after this change the problem disappeared in the log, could it be just because it was reconnecting faster, but it works until we find the final problem. :)

@NorthernMan54, just a respond on this, I returned the reconnectPeriod to 65000 and changed the keepalive to 120 on version 0.5.49 and worked well. I didn't notice any issue during 24hs.. Now I made the update to 0.5.50, I will keep you posted, but so far so good!!!! Let's make sure we close this for good!!!

I have homebridge on hoobs so I found that I have to change to the hoobs folder an run "npm install homebridge-alexa@0.5.39", means without the -g, here for a rollback. This works version works but have vulnerabilities ....will test the beta later

2 years ago I dont see an improvement with 0.5.50. Lost connection after less than an hour. Went back to 0.5.39.
Hi, since I updated to v0.5.42 alexa says "device not responding". If i restart homebridge it works for a while then I got the same issue. Everything works fine in the home app, I tried to downgrade "Homebridge Alexa" but I got the same issue. I tried also disabling the skill and configuring every device from zero... The same! Can you help me please?
