Please update the changelog before the why for the changes are forgotten.

Guys, some of my thoughts:

The issue here was not the the OS but the incorrect language settings in the first place. Therefore, I will not note the OS version (as this is not relevant), but the initial setup issues and the solutions to them. Upgrading to the latest Centos was a nice side effect for being consistent across all installed OSes.

@georgemarselis-nvi But we need to document all changes - so OS update and additional software upgrades should be documented here.

OS level changes are part of infrastructure changes and therefore should be filed as "change requests" with the IT department (when the IT department gets a proper change request procedure". github is not about change requests.

but i digress. Done, closing issue.
