[cm12.1_golden.nova.20160101.ODIN_TWRP] Back button and menu button doesn't work #66

Both back button and menu button does not work at all at my S3 mini. No action happen when pressed, no backlighting, no new record in logcat.

I tried cm12.1, cm11 and pacman and it was all the same. Reverted back to stock rom and button works again. This 'simple' issue prevents me from using your otherways great roms. According to comments below releases, more users has this issue.

Partial workaround is to add following to build.prop: qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 But this will not give you menu button and reduce usable screen size.

The issue may be solved after adding patching the kernel; just check: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65116005&postcount=110 So two kernel files have to be modified.
