most of those are pretty buzzwordy, i suspect that periodic incremental and full database dumps released in torrents would suffice for now.

I'd rather use proven technology that works (Postgres) and seed daily dumps of the db. That is going to be enough, at least for now. We'll see in the future but we need something working now and well.
