Tips for Optimizing Speed #1070

Closed matt-harbers closed 11 months ago

Hi, I've been trying to increase the performance of the VPN. The aws ec2 clocks about 2500mbps and my local machine not on the VPN is doing 650mbps, but when on VPN, it's around 150.

I've been trying a number of options I've found by reading forums, but nothing has helped.

I'm currently using just the out of the box server.conf and client settings.

Has anyone had any luck with different settings while still maintaining a cipher and auth? Thanks!

It looks like a reasonable speed to me. You can look at other duplicate issues on this matter, but there are a lot of factors to take into account about OpenVPN performance. 150 mbps over the internet can be considered average.
