Systematic Botany is Open Access #22

Open qgroom opened 1 year ago

Systematic Botany is an open access journal, but in the figure 1 of the paper (release 57) the papers appear to be either closed or the status is undiscoverable. Why is this?

I put in the methods that we are relying on the recording of DOIs at time of entry into IPNI, or the DOI backfill from the COL dataset. I suppose neither are supplying DOIs for Syst Bot names.

This one is quite recent and the DOI is in IPNI / paper

nickynicolson commented 1 year ago

The doi in IPNI includes uppercase letters, the data returned from unpaywall was all lowercase, causing join to fail. Update required in ipni-oa

I can't see anything that states Systematic Botany is a wholly OA journal - see the issue classification here: https://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/aspt/sb Our analysis is based around the articles in the journal known to contain nomenclatural acts - so use of open access for articles with non-nomenclatural content will not affect the display in these results. Anyway - the unpaywall results for this (and other journals eg Kew Bulletin) are now improved, so thanks for reporting!
