Line 79 and following: in addition to this valid point, it should also be mentioned that technical conditions in tropical countries below 1,800 meters above sea level make that several Herbaria have periodically experienced loss of specimens due to insects. Further, well into post-colonial times, there are several countries where the preference seems to have been to have several poorly managed Herbaria instead of running a single good one at national level.
