cmf needs homepage, description, license #794

work on cmf is in progress per Mark Engelstad and is known to need homepage, description, product, license.

We have a homepage for CMF but this ontology is now marked as inactive. Do we still want to try and get the other fields? It's not marked as obsolete.

Sounds like we should make an attempt to contact the ontology owner (@markenglestad?) and if we don't get a response, mark the ontology obsolete.

I have an email from Mark Engelstad who says that he "is making some bigger changes to CMFO & for right now, it should be taken offline from the OBO foundry". I do not know if this means it should be marked obsolete or inactive?

Right now there are still no flags for users on the CMF page or programs consuming the OBO Foundry metadata to note that this project appears to be dead (I might have missed the difference between inactive/obsolete, though). Not only is it missing the metadata, but the ontology doesn't appear to exist on the google page that's linked nor in OLS, AberOWL, or OntoBee.

Ideally, I would like to defer to OBO Foundry for this, but a lot of the conversations about specific ontologies and about the way the curation is done in general have been ongoing for years with minimal forward movement. It's a bit of a practical barrier.

I'm going to create a script that outputs the discrepancies between the deprecation status of entries in the Bioregistry, MIRIAM, and OBO Foundry so we can look into this further

I made a PR to mark CMF as obsolete for now, because none of its purls resolve; @markengelstad please let me know when you are done with your CMF work so I can re-instate it :) Thank you!

@rvita I think we can close this one for now since it looks like CMF won't be updated, right?
