Picking up from PR #1913

Hi,

This is an easy port to 17.0. I needed it for something else, and I figured it was still relevant.

Let me know if there's something I need to fix and if we can merge this.

I'm confused by the failing tests. The errors mention a SQL query that I do not see matching this module.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

The error in CI is not your fault. It seems a general failure.
