[RFC] 14.0 cannot functionally test configurator / variant matrix in sale-workflow runboat

In sale-workflow runboat, activate "product configurator" and "variant matrix"

SO > click "add a product" on line, this is the popup appearing:

As per screenshot above, the "product" field is related to product.product, so there is no chance to select a product.template and then select variant(s) through product configurator or variant matrix

This is in contrast with standard flow of SO when either configurator or matrix are active:

click "add a product" on line > product templates are displayed

This makes impossible to check compatibility of any sale-workflow modules with configurator or matrix

Describe the solution you'd like Can you help me identify if there is a module responsible for the popup appearing?

If that's standard behavior when there are too many fields on SO line, how could we make field "product" in popup behave like standard, displaying product template and triggering configurator or matrix?
