thank @kevinkhao, for your improvements in this PR. but it seems that there has been a slight change in the Dropdown class in core js. to detect the error you can go to the configuration according to the instructions in the CONFIGURE.md file and enable debug mode. some of the following probs are no longer available or have been replaced: autoOpen, class, toggler, ...

Some improvements are being forward ported to 17.0 https://github.com/OCA/server-ux/pull/968 Would be good to have them included here
