It is used (wezer.org) but not anymore deeply maintained. I did fork it partly to https://github.com/codoo/vertical-exchange. But the fork is in a early stage.
Some improvements mostly on web side has been done here: https://github.com/Valeureux/wezer-exchange
This repo is updated on a regular basis almost weekly.
Yeah big improvements are currently made by Valeureux, but the code is not OCA quality yet and so can't be currently merge in the OCA repo. Any help to merge the two repo in OCA quality would be very welcome I think.
Hey guys,
nice to meet you! Thank you very much for your contributions and work being put on this initiative!
Is there a chance for some motion on this project?
I see the most recent activity related to the initiative is at https://moneygrid.net/. There's a v9 port effort running there but it's also not active for the last 6 months.
We are forming a community initiative in Bulgaria and are looking for possible platforms to built it with. Odoo appears to be very suitable and has the potential to work well for both pure community and commercial community purposes. The thing is that it's best to focus all the efforts in an initiative which has wider support and potential to be utilised.
Your feedback will be appreciated!
Kind Regards, Kaloyan
@YannickB - you are the OCA representative for this project. can you comment? cc @pedrobaeza
This repository was created as request of @YannickB, so without his contributions, for now there's not too much to offer, because nobody has expressed interest in contribute in this topic.
Hello guys,
I really don't know what to think and what we should do. Again, the beginning of the story was a work I did for the french association Les Valeureux, before leaving the project I made sure the code became OCA quality and was accepted in the OCA so they had a chance to continue the project in good condition. As this point, they were planning to take the lead of the project.
Now here is the situation : -The project continued on another repo, as pointed out by @florent-valeureux : https://github.com/Valeureux/wezer-exchange/commits/8.0. It seems the last commit date from one year ago. -Since my departure, the code wasn't OCA quality so we couldn't easily update the OCA repo. I don't think it was wanted by Valeureux, they probably had some problems meanwhile. -On my side, I couldn't reserve time for help on the development, but I was and still am committed to review the pull requests.
So now I don't know what we should do, I think we all agree that this situation can't stay like this. @djulien19 what is the situation at Valeureux ? Are you still continuing on your side? Do you think there is ever a chance that the OCA repo get updated ?
I'll be at the OCA sprint before Odoo Experience, I think we shall discuss this at this moment.
Yes, we can discuss there if there's interest on continuing this and maybe to reach OCA quality for the code with a sprint group. @KaloyanNaumov, do you have resources (financial or developers team) for contributing in this development?
Since I saw the project just a couple of days ago, I am just starting with tests and reviews of the current work in v8. Will also start promoting it locally, in an effort to find resources, as I don't have currently. I myself can only contribute with QA and PM as I'm not a developer.
Assuming that we'll find resources over time, we still need to choose how to continue and with which fork, as there are few already. One is the Valeureux, and also @lucode has forked it and started reworking parts of the project for v9 compatibility for the https://moneygrid.net/ project. Eventually, they will all reach back the OCA repository.
I see, it's clear for me that the Valeureux repo is the most advanced and effort shall be focused to make it OCA quality if we want to have a chance to make the repo alive again.
But I want to see what @lucode did, is there a place where we can see the fork?
I would agree that the Valeureux repo is the most complete repo to focus on, even if it's on v8 only. Hopefully, we will get some feedback from them and they still want to bring the project to light.
As per the v9 work by @lucode, he decided to split the modules in two verticals - community & exchange and the primary focus goes to excahnge(+marketplace). The code for the exchange part is at : https://github.com/moneygrid/vertical-exchange. It's a WIP.
There is also a fork here: https://github.com/codoo/vertical-community2. There is no activity there.
There is also this repo, which is probably worth mentioning: https://github.com/xpansa/community-web
I'm curious,: is this codebase currently being used (and maintained), or is it a PoC / experimental project?
