Hi @Termin0tor ,
I was unable to reproduce your problem.
My test machine is called DEVELOPPEUR-WINDOWS
.
I installed a 2.9.2 agent and it inventoried itself as DEVELOPER-WIN
.
Then I updated the agent to version 2.10.1.0. No duplicate was created and the machine was renamed DEVELOPPEUR-WINDOWS
on my administration console (always in uppercase).
Can you give me more details about your agent installation (new installation / update from which version) ? What is your Windows version ?
Best regards, Charlene
It seems this only happens when you use a generated exe by the Packager-for-Windows to install OCS.
Hi @Termin0tor ,
What parameters did you set in your setup ?
Regards, Charlene
Hi Charlene,
I used
/S /NOSPLASH /NOW /server=https://10.22.0.22/ocsinventory /ssl=0
I use Windows 10
Best Regards

Hi @Termin0tor ,
Do you have any plugins installed ?
The presence of duplicate machines is often linked to a poorly installed / outdated plugin.
In the server log file (/var/log/ocsinventory-server/activity.log
), do you have any reference to a duplicate
error ?
Best regards, Charlene
Hi @Termin0tor ,
Any news ?

Hi,
Since there is no response, I close this issue.

General information
Operating system : Windows 10/11
OCS Inventory information
Windows agent version : Agent Windows 2.10.1.0
Problem's description
With the previous version of the Windows agent the netbios name was being used as the hostname / pc name, all in uppercase letters. By installing Agent Windows 2.10.1.0 a new entry is being created with the computer name being written in lowercase, which causes a duplicate.
