Metadata is not necessarily restricted to a single metadata standard on OpenGeoPortal. At geodata.tufts.edu, I see metadata in at least three different standards, ISO 19139, ISO 19115, and FDGC CSGDM.

GeoBlacklight uses OpenGeoMetadata, OGM-Aardvark. See https://github.com/OpenGeoMetadata/edu.tufts
