Did you try resetting the IP address? The cRIO-FRC II lacks the physical dip switches of the older model, but has the same switches implemented in software. The imaging tool can be used to change the values via the switches pane in the lower left-hand corner.
I did try that, but those virtual dip switches were deactivated and could not be changed. I hooked up the other cRIO II and the dip switches were able to change. I was thinking that doing a reset might do the trick, but I don't know.
For future reference, here's the procedure I used for imaging the old 8-slot cRIO. Start with the cRIO off and the WiFi adapter (if using the laptop) disabled. Only the LAN network adapter should be enabled during this procedure. Make sure everything is connected before starting the Imaging tool and that the cRIO is off. The Imaging tool should be running before powering on the cRIO.
1) Connect the computer doing the imaging to the router with an ethernet cable. DO NOT connect to the cRIO and bridge using WiFi to format the cRIO.
2) Connect the router to the cRIO with an ethernet cable.
3) Follow the steps outlined in the 2014 Imaging your cRIO instruction guide up until the "Select Options and Image cRIO" portion.
4) Set the IP Reset physical dip switch. On the 4-slot cRIO the physical dip switch isn't present so you'll have to use the Imaging tool to set it through software. If you can't set the 4-slot cRIO switches through the imaging tool you'll have to troubleshoot that particular issue first (i.e., google the problem).
5) Turn on the cRIO. Wait for it to power on and be detected through the Imaging tool.
6) Flip the IP Reset dipswitch to off (physical or software).
7) Turn off the cRIO and then turn it back on. Wait for the Imaging tool to see it again. With IP Reset enable (through the physical of software dipswitch) you should see the IP address reset from 10.38.7.x to 1xx.x.x.x
8) Use the Imaging tool to install the 2014 v52 Java image (gotten from the Java programming update download). Make "Format" is selected.
If you're having issues and you're able to flip dip switches (through hardware or software) you can enable CONSOLE OUT and use the procedure outlined here for Windows 7 to get debug output.
I managed to get, although what I did differently is unknown. I tried re-imaging it again, just to get the error output, and it ended up working. I did notice that the IP address was set 10.38.7.2 already, so that may have caused it to work. I guess the third time is the charm. Thank you for that outline Patrick. I think I will copy and paste that into a text file and add it to the main git, although I will do that later.
Try to re-image the new cRIO.
