Default print preferences #1313

This issue is unique.

Your idea.

Settings in the print menu should follow the default printer's preferences, or at least be saved when changed. As it is now, you have to change the preferences manually every time you want to print a document.

Hi @VasilisKos, which editor are you talking about, documents/spreadsheets/presentations?

Hi @VasilisKos, which editor are you talking about, documents/spreadsheets/presentations?

All of them. It's (or should be) a universal setting.

Then you are confusing the concepts a bit: The settings in the print menu must match the document parameters. The default printer settings are set in the operating system. Our application does not have access to such settings and therefore all the changes made when the document is output to the printer are saved only in this session and cannot be changed in the system as the default settings.

Why do you make things complicated? Why cant' the app behave simply like ALL other office apps do? Clicking the quick print icon should print the doc according to the printer settings. Simple as that!

What difficulties do you have in understanding what I have described? Other applications work similarly. Besides, you didn't say anything about the Quick print function before. Its operation is also simple and similar to other applications. The Quick print function saves the name of the last printer used during printing and sends the document directly to it (bypassing the preview menu) and nothing else. If you use it, you should have seen this message:

You have selected Quick print: the entire document will be printed on the last selected or default printer. Do you want to continue?

Maybe you have some specific use case and something doesn't work as I described?

I have the same problem. I at least want to change the default settings.
