Do you want to request a feature or report a bug? Report a bug

What is the current behavior? Spell checker marks words with middle-dots, dashes or apostrophes as different words, when it shouldn't.

If the current behavior is a bug, please provide the steps to reproduce and if possible a minimal demo of the problem. Some words with dashes, middle-dots and apostrophes are counted as different words.

Seeing the example above, the word "castel·là" is splitted in "castel" and "là"; as those two lasts words on it's own are incorrect, are both marked as erros, but the entire word "castel·là" is correct.

In cases a word on it's own it's correct, for example "col·lapsat" is a correct word on it's own, but splitted it's "col" and "lapsat", "col" on it's own it's also correct, but "lapsat" it is not and it's marked. The same happens with "se'ls-hi" (splitted "se" and "hi" are correct, but "ls" it's not). On the words "desfer-les" and "apropem-nos-hi", all of the individual words are correct on it's own.

I don't know if I explained everything properly, catalan grammar ain't easy, even for a native speaker.

What is the expected behavior? Words separated by those characters should be interpreted as a single word. For example, "castel·là" should be detected as "castel·là", instead of the current "castel" and "là".

Which versions of DesktopEditors, and which OS are affected by this issue? Did this work in previous versions of DesktopEditors?

I don't know if this was present in previous verions, I've realized of this bug just a couple of days ago.

Hello, @xavizardKnight. Thank you for report. I created new issue 49158 in our private issue tracker.

Problem reproduces in Document Server.

ShockwaveNN commented 3 years ago

Moving this issue to DocumentServer repo, since it's our base product and problem actual there too

I note that this is still an issue... when do you suppose it will be sorted? It applies to English words with an apostrophe as well. I have been adding them to my custom dictionary - I am using a Mac version. At the time of writing this document, the version was 7.4.1. Thanks.

@mwmentor, at the moment we have no ETA to fix the problem. We will write here when this.

It applies to English words with an apostrophe as well.

This is another issue.
