Changin Text Direction From LTR (Left to Right) to RTL (Right to Left) #3002

This issue is unique.

Your idea.

I see good progress on the implementation of the RTL typing feature in Only Office, but one thing that still makes it difficult for me to move from other office suites to Only Office, namely how the RTL feature works.

  1. When writing from right to left like Arabic typing, it is not only the ability to render the text correctly, but also the ability to set the text direction
  2. Text direction here, does not merely provide a right-aligned display which is only limited to text alignment, but not entirely text direction
  3. Consider the following example: image

Here it can be seen that, even though we write Arabic, OnlyOffice still detects the direction of the paragraph from left to right. If the direction is correct from right to left, the cursor will be on the right, at the end of the sentence

  1. Other Office Suites, such as Ms. Word and LibreOffice, they provide additional settings to set the direction per paragraph image

Here I attach a screenshot from Ms. Word, where this setting can be found on the ribbon bar, or advanced paragraph settings image

I hope in the future OnlyOffice can present this feature, because if we only type Arabic but cannot set the text direction correctly from right to left, then the RTL feature in OnlyOffice can be said to be not very useful. It will only complicate typing documents.

I think with the presence of this text direction feature, many people will switch to OnlyOffice. Because that is the main reason until now, people who need to write from right to left are still reluctant to use Only Office. While applications other than MS. Word that have supported this feature are only LibreOffice, even Affinity Suite (Designer, Photo or Publisher) does not have this feature.

Once again, Thanks OnlyOffice team for your dedication in this open source world. We truly appreciate it.
